How we got here…
We (Rick & Marilyn) opened R. A. Ross & Associates on August 1st, 1985 after ten years of industrial experience selling pumps and filtration products. We knew helping customers solve their plant issues with pumps and filtration and using the Golden Rule, treating others as we would like to be treated, would be the best path to a successful business.
Year one we were appointed distributors for Aro Air Operated Double Diaphragm and Piston Pumps; Blackmer Positive Displacement Vane Pumps; Dean Centrifugal High Temperature and ANSI Chemical and Vanton Thermoplastic Corrosion Resistant Horizontal and Vertical Centrifugal Pumps and Flexiliner Pumps. WE ARE STILL DISTRIBUTORS FOR ALL!
Since 1985, we have grown to 19 employees operating in 5 states and servicing thousands of customers with high quality pumps, vacuum pumps, blowers, gas compressors, filters, tanks, and other Engineered Products.
Some milestones along the way include:
• In 1986 we hired Ray, additional outside salesperson and Viv, our bookkeeper.
• By 1992 we had built our office/warehouse building with an expanded repair shop; and had been appointed distributors for both Dickow Magnetic driven pumps and Neptune Pumps and Mixers
• In late 1993, we signed a contract with MD Pneumatics to represent/distribute their Positive Displacement Blower products.
• In 1994, Dave Walker and Rick Ross formed R. A. Ross & Associates N. E., a distributor partnership near Cleveland, Ohio that provided sales and repair service for Industrial and Transport Positive Displacement Blowers (including MD Pneumatics).• To provide a different business model of consultive, engineered sales, in 1997, R A. Ross & Associates Inc. helped form Preferred Pump LLC to be a dedicated pump supplier to Eli Lilly.
• During the decade prior to 2010, we were appointed representatives for Amiad Manual & Automatic Water Filtration Systems, PolyProcessing non-metallic tanks and Continental Blowers that furnish large centrifugal blowers.
• In 2010, representing Lobee Pumps for some years,we were appointed as a Master Distributor.
• In 2014 we were appointed the Kinney vacuum pump representative/distributor, expanding our technical product offering.
• In 2023, after being Neptune Pump and Mixer representative for many years, we were appointed as a Master Stocking Distributor and Authorized Repair Center for IN, KY, OH, TN and WV.
