Meet Our Team

Al

Al joined R. A. Ross in 2002. Al is married with 3 children and 3 grandchildren, whom he is very proud. Al also has a dog named Buddy, and a cat named Kitty.

Al’s favorite hobbies include playing music, cheering on the University of Kentucky Wildcats and Pittsburg Steelers, barbequing and camping. Al is musically and vocally gifted and is a published songwriter. Al credits Jesus Christ and his parents as the biggest influences in his life.

Al enjoys reruns of the television show “The Rockford Files” and movies with Clint Eastwood or John Wayne. Al’s bucket list includes traveling to Europe, having one of his original songs recorded by a famous artist and visiting the Grand Canyon.

Bobby

Bobby joined R. A. Ross in the summer of 2022. He got married in 2021 and lives with his wife in Simpsonville, KY. He is glad to say that getting married is one of the best things that ever happened to him, just short of becoming a Christian. He also has a passion for music and worship, serving as the worship leader at Lakewood Baptist Church in Middletown, KY.

In his spare time, he loves to spend time outdoors, whether it be camping, hiking, or running. He also has a passion for the culinary arts. His dreams are to spend his life putting down roots in Simpsonville and serving his community.

Colleen

Colleen joined our team in 2017 after eleven years in the health care industry as a Registered Nurse. Colleen has a nickname of “Bean” and grew up in Louisville and graduated from both the University of Kentucky and Bellarmine University. Colleen cheers for the University of Kentucky Wildcats, particularly in basketball.

Colleen and her husband have three children and one dog. Colleen loves clean jokes, spending time with her family and helping people. Colleen’s favorite movies are the original Star Wars trilogy and The Princess Bride.

Eric

Eric joined R. A Ross & Associates in 2019 with extensive experience in manufacturing equipment and industrial filtration. Eric is going to represent us in Southern Ohio and West Virginia.

He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in business. Eric lives south of Columbus, OH with his wife and children where they are the proud owners of two rescue Pit Bulls and three stray cats. Eric enjoys riding his Harley whenever the weather permits and watching college football whenever it doesn’t.

With both children graduating from college soon, Eric hopes to start checking off the bucket items from the list he and his wife have.

J.

James “J.” Lowe has began with R.A. Ross & Associates in 2010. J’s expertise is in repairs and shipping and receiving.

J is married with children. J is musically gifted and plays the guitar at his church. J is a grill master and always mans the grill during our team cookouts.

Jeff

Jeff began with R. A. Ross & Associates in 2006 and had previous experience in pump and motor sales & repairs as well as being a pipefitter for the railroad for 20 years. Jeff is in outside sales and his territories include Central and Western Kentucky, Southwest Indiana, and the bordering counties of Tennessee, Illinois and Missouri.

Jeff has been happily married to Gayle for 38 years and they are blessed with 3 children (2 daughters and 1 son), 4 granddaughters and 1 great granddaughter.

Jeff loves adventure and is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys quail hunting, especially with his two Brittany Spaniels (Sam & Sophie). Jeff also enjoys playing golf and crappie fishing. When not outdoors, Jeff cheers for the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

Jeff’s dream vacation would be to travel to the west to quail hunt or attend the Masters in Augusta, GA. Jeff’s motto/favorite quote is “Anything worth doing is worth doing correctly.”

Karen

Karen became a team member in 1996. Karen is a “people person” by nature and enjoys solving customer’s problems, technically supporting customers, and finding the correct solutions for customer’s applications. If Karen doesn’t have the answer, she will research it to find a solution, gaining knowledge in the process.

Karen is grateful for her R.A. Ross family and states it is a privilege to serve our customers with people who really care. Karen boasts, “We are here because of our loyal customers!”

Kim

Kim has been a member of the team since 2006. Kim is a Louisvillian who graduated from Seneca High School and Sullivan College.

Kim is an asset to our company family…including ensuring the candy jar at her desk is always full.

Kim is married and has two children. Kim also has a four-legged canine baby whom she loves to spoil.

Marilyn

Marilyn formed the company R.A. Ross & Associates, Inc. in conjunction with her husband, Rick, on August 1, 1985. Marilyn and Rick have 2 daughters and 7 grandchildren (5 granddaughters and 2 grandsons). They also have two fur babies.

Marilyn was born and raised in Michigan and has called Kentucky her home for 40 years. She cheers for the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Her favorite music to listen to is Christian or 1960’s on XM radio.

Marilyn’s dream location to travel would be to Israel so she could walk where Jesus walked.

Marilyn’s passions not only include loving and leading her family but serving others. Marilyn says, “I am happy to come to work every day because of the people I get to work with. I can’t imagine a better group of co-workers to share my day with and it makes the day fly!”

Martin

Martin joined our team in 2013 and has been a valuable team member. Martin has been married for 4 years and is proud to say it was the best thing that has happened to him.

Martin has many hobbies including traveling, attending music festivals and cooking/grilling/smoking/barbequing. Martin also enjoys watching soccer and his favorite teams are FC Barcelona, FC Bayern Munich and Louisville City FC. He also cheers for the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

Martin is a first generation citizen and credits his parents as being the biggest influences in his life. If given the chance, Martin would love to go to Iceland to see the Northern Lights.

Melanie

Melanie “Mel” joined us in 2004 and is one of our parts experts  Mel is married with children and grandchildren and she enjoys her weekends being with her family, especially on the boat when weather permits. Mel attributes her mother, who has passed, as her biggest influence in her life as she was a great inspiration providing so much love and patience. Mel says the best thing that has ever happened to her is becoming a Christian.

Mel is a 49ers fan by osmosis since her husband is a fan. If given the opportunity, Mel would love to visit Fiji since Fiji is known to have some of the best food and is rated one of the world’s happiest countries.

Nicholas

Will

Will joined our team in 2022 as an Application Engineer. Will grew up in Springfield, TN and graduated with a B.S.E.T. from Tennessee Tech.

Will enjoys living in the Louisville Metropolitan area near his extended family. Will has two brothers, finds church to be an important part of his life, and his hobbies include reading and writing.

Will enjoys learning more practical aspects of day-to-day engineering and applying what he learned in college.

Phil

Phil joined us in 1997. Phil retired from R.A. Ross and Associates, Inc. in 2011 but still comes to work to assist our team on a part time basis. He fills in and handles shipping and receiving as needed.

Phil and his wife, Laura, are now both retired stay active with family, friends and classic cars. They enjoy spending time with their 7 grandchildren. In his high school years Phil played with several bands in the Louisville area.

Phil also enjoys participating in car shows and has been a member of the Rambler and AMC club. Phil and Laura attend the classic car show held yearly in Louisville at the Fairgrounds and they travel to Wisconsin for a classic car show. One of Phil’s other hobbies is rebuilding cars. Phil has done major redesign work, putting larger engines in cars, redoing cooling systems, redoing brake systems, etc. If you need a part for a classic car…Phil is your guy! As “Mr. Fixit”, Phil was called MacGyver by all at the office due to his creative solutions to problems.

Rick

Rick formed the company R.A. Ross & Associates, Inc. in conjunction with his wife, Marilyn, on August 1, 1985. Rick and Marilyn have 2 daughters and 7 grandchildren (5 granddaughters and 2 grandsons). They also have two fur babies.

Rick was born and raised in Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. Rick began working in the pump and filter industry after college and has 42 years of experience…a seasoned vet for sure.

Rick enjoys traveling to warm and sunny locations and spending time with his family. Rick’s bucket list travel destination would be to Israel. Rick enjoys serving and volunteering at his church.

Susan

Susan joined our team in 2019 and has a degree from Spalding University in Communications.

Susan has been married to Ken for over 30 years.  They have 5 children (4 girls and one boy) and 2 sons-in-law.  Their family also includes a menagerie of pets. She has been a Girl Scout volunteer for over 25 years, as well as volunteering at her church and with a local homeschool group.

She enjoys crafts, especially scrapbooking and crocheting small animals.  She loves swimming, hiking and camping.  She spends most weekends watching her kids’ sports competitions.

William

William joined our team in 2016 following nearly 14 years in the health care administration field. William graduated from University of Louisville and is an avid sports fan.

William enjoys all types of music and enjoys watching college football, especially the Louisville Cardinals. His other favorite teams are the New York Jets and Atlanta Braves. William says marrying his wife and having his three children are the best things that have happened to him. William credits his father, who has passed, and God as the biggest influences in his life.

If given the opportunity, William would like to travel to the beach. William and his family have one dog, Gracie. William’s favorite radio station is 93.9 The Ville where he listens to sports talk.
